 Retractableawnings.com wins 2012 International Achievement Awards

(Roseville, Minn. – Nov. 7, 2012) – Retractableawnings.com Inc., Miami Gardens, Florida was recognized with two 2012 International Achievement Awards (IAA) for design excellence in specialty fabrics applications, that took place Nov. 7 at the IFAI Expo Americas 2012, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center in Boston, Mass.

More specifically, Retractableawnings.com received two outstanding achievement awards in the retractable awnings and canopies category for its gigantic retractable patio cover system and retractable pergola cover projects. The projects were recognized in the competition’s awnings and canopies category. Of twenty four entries in the category (Awnings and canopies – Retractable awnings and canopies), only three projects are chosen as winners. Retractableawnings.com is proud to announce that of the three projects chosen, Retractableawnings.com won two out of three.

IFAI received a total of 335 entries from 14 countries that were submitted for 30 categories in this year’s competition. Winners were selected based on complexity, design, workmanship, uniqueness and function. Judges included industry experts, editors, architects, educators and design professionals who were chosen for their knowledge in a particular field of study or product area.

All entries receive prominent recognition at IFAI Expo Americas, the largest specialty fabrics trade show in the Americas. Entrants receive additional publicity through coverage in IFAI magazines and press releases distributed to media professionals. 

For more than six decades, IAA has recognized excellence in design and innovation, highlighting truly spectacular work in the specialty fabrics industry. The goal of IAA is to promote awareness of the specialty fabrics used in thousands of products and applications ranging in size and type.

The International Achievement Awards competition is sponsored by IFAI, a not-for-profit trade association whose 2,000 member companies represent the international specialty fabrics marketplace.
