Parthenon - Retractable Canopy Awning
The Parthenon dome awning, like its ancient Roman namesake, provides all-around shelter from light rains and glaring sunlight.
The arch of the dome awning pulls fabric all 180 degrees over the window or door, so there are no gaps in coverage (unlike lateral arm awnings, which pull fabric straight out front and have no coverage from the side). The shape of dome awnings keeps the awning small and compact while offering the maximum interior shade protection – making canopy style awnings the idea window awning.
The Parthenon has a slightly rectangular shape, rather than a semi-circle. Four ribs span the middle of the awnings, set at consistent intervals from a single joint. This preserves the arch of the Parthenon awning.
The original Parthenon building was spanned by massive fabric canopies to control the interior climate. RetractableAwnings.com's Parthenon model takes its name from that ancient arena for a reason: the Parthenon canopy awning is on an extended frame. With projections nearly a half foot farther than other window awnings, the Parthenon not only offers the maximum interior shade protection, it also provides more effective outdoor shade and rain protection by having a larger shade footprint.
The extended size of the Parthenon makes it an excellent choice for outdoor walkways and storefronts, especially when combined with screenprinting and other options that can help define a brand for a store or business. The natural compactness of dome awnings can help it fit even in tight areas.
The Parthenon large awnings style is manually operated by a cord pull and cord cleat.
Important: Please note that the Parthenon model is RETRACTABLE and not FIXED/PERMANENT/STATIONARY which is perfect for high winds, hurricanes and snow loads. With a fixed awning, you have to remove the fabric every year before snow begins to fall or before high winds and hurricanes. That is not the case with a RETRACTABLE Parthenon awning.

Valance Styles For Canopy Awnings - Colosseo, Pisa, Parthenon and Trevi
Retractableawnings.com provides a choice of eight valance styles. Standard valance height is 6" for the Colosseo, Pisa, Parthenon and Trevi canopy awnings.
Please be sure to use the corresponding valance number when ordering.

Retractable Awning Trim Colors
You have a choice of any 1 of 27 solution dyed acrylic braid binding (trim) colors. The binding is approximately ½" wide and is sewn with Tenara thread (lifetime warranty) onto the bottom of both sides of the valance. The binding (trim) takes the shape of the valance style selected. This trim is used on all valances on all retractable lateral arm awnings and retractable canopy awnings.

The protective vinyl trim (pvc trim) is available in 18 colors and is used for decorative purposes and also to cover the area where the fabric is attached to the frame "ribs". It is approximately 1/4" wide and is placed on the exterior of all our canopy awning models - Colosseo, Pisa, Parthenon and Trevi.
