Calabria - Vertical drop awning
The Calabria has an Eastern-style tranquility. Unlike the other drop-down awnings from RetractableAwnings.com, the Calabria has an almost casement-like style that makes it an ideal screen for structured areas like doorways, windows, and pavilions. The added strength from the solid guides makes the Calabria an appealing choice for more demanding environments, like yachts and boating.
The thick, smooth frame of the Calabria is made from powder-coated aluminum, with a high-shine finish. The top bar is a full cassette, so the fabric roller and fabric are effectively concealed. The rectangular bar is flared slightly at the top, and the side tracks are completely smooth. Several Calabria frames can be connected using two connecting brackets to smoothly join the top frames and to keep the side guides rigid and parallel.
The Calabria is an excellent shield against the sun, UV rays, glare, and heavy rains, as well as pests like pollen, dust, and insects. The fabric for the Calabria drop-down screen can be opaque solution-dyed acrylic (perfect for privacy and sun shade) or Soltis Air mesh fabrics, solid fabrics with pinholes perforating it that allow you to see through the screen to the outdoor view while letting in picturesquely filtered light.
The Calabria is available in both manual and motorized versions. Motorized Calabria drop-down screens can use accessories like wind, rain, and sun sensors, timers, and remote controls.
