ELEGANTE LATERAL ARM RETRACTABLE AWNING |

Important: Important: You will need a clear
width span (no projections like vents, lights, speakers,
downspouts, trim etc.) that is 9" high, without
the optional bullnose hood and 11" with the
bullnose hood, to attach the mounting brackets for
the Elegante retractable awning. The awning can
be manufactured in 1" increments (they are
priced by the foot so a 19'8" is priced as
a 20' awning). The width (from left to right) of
the awning is determined by the overall width of
the roller tube and it's tube support brackets.
The fabric is approximately 5 5/8" less (2
13/16" on each side) than the total width.
Areas where minimum width is required for each size
of arm projection should be noted. In some instances
where the minimum width is not obtainable, there
are some units available with a drop arm kit that
allows one arm to fold below the other when the
unit is retracted. This allows a narrow width to
have a longer projection when using the Elegante
pricing estimator. When the Elegante Pricing Estimator
is used, and the arm lowering kit is needed it will
automatically be included in the pricing for that
specific size. For all sizes that have an arm lowering
kit see the Key and letter A at the bottom of this
page. Note: with the drop arm kit, the Elegante
pitch is only adjustable to a maximum of approximately
25 degrees from horizontal.
After measuring the width, you need to determine
which projection you need. The projections shown
in the specification table and price estimator are
the maximum extended distance from the mounting
wall or roof the awning will cover. Make sure that
there are no obstructions in the area that the awning
will cover. The slope (angle/pitch) of the Elegante
awning is adjustable on the arm bracket adjustment
bolts. If you purchase the optional adjustable pitch
(by customer) on units up to 20 foot wide by 10'6"
maximum projection, the pitch is adjustable with
an optional manual crank. The front bar on the optional
crank system also has two bubble levels, just like
those on a carpenters level, to help you get the
front bar perfectly level. The Elegante lateral
arm model can be mounted to any solid surface, however
you should ensure that the bolts penetrate a structural
member (stud, brick, header, beam etc.) a minimum
of 1 ½". The bottom of the frame, measured
at the point of attachment should be a MINIMUM of
7foot 6 inches from the deck or patio. If you are
ordering the optional protective bullnose hood allow
an additional 2" in length. Should you be mounting
the awning over an out swinging French door or storm
door, the awning should be mounted at least 10"
above the top of the door. For difficult or low
applications we offer ceiling and roof mounting
brackets (see below).
Finally,
determine which side of the Elegante awning you
want the crank and / or motor to be located. Standing
on the deck or patio facing the mounting wall, select
left or right. Your choice should be based on ease
of access and any obstructions. If the awning is
to be motorized, access to the power source is an
obvious consideration. Measurements of location
of existing outlet to control option box (or outdoor
plug-in switch), from control option box (for outdoor
plug in switch) to motor and from control option
box to wind sensor or rain sensor or sun sensor,
if purchased, would also be required.
 Roof
Mount Brackets – These brackets allow the awning
to be mounted higher when there is a sloped or flat
roof surface available. If the roof is a barrel
or concrete roof tile, the tiles (where the brackets
are installed) will need to be removed and replaced
after the Elegante awning is installed. See table
below for the number of angle roof brackets needed.
An adjustable roof bracket available for any angle
roof or even a flat roof. For the adjustable roof
mount bracket, upon installation, you can easily
adjust the angle of the roof bracket based on the
angle of your roof. In addition to the roof mount
brackets, a roof mount will require wall brackets
if no hood is ordered and will require universal
mount brackets if a bullnose hood is ordered.
Ceiling brackets – Used to mount the awning
under an overhang or to a soffit. See table below
for the number of brackets required.

Fascia
Mount - This is possible but the fascia must
be strong enough to receive and hold the complete
awning weight and the pressure it exerts when fully
open. The fascia mount will require wall brackets
if no hood is ordered and will require ceiling mount
brackets if a bullnose hood is ordered. ** CLICK

Cranks
are available for manual or backup manual override
awnings in seven sizes: 43", 59", 70",
90", 102", 122" or 162". To
determine the size required measure from the gear
or motor location that the Elegante awning will
be mounted down to the users waist. This is the
approximate size required.
Siding Application – To keep the mounting brackets
plumb when mounting to horizontal lap siding, pressure
treated wood 2" thick x 9" wide (11"
wide with hood) should be mounted according to awning
width. The wall or universal with hood brackets
can then be mounted to the pressure treated board.
Alternatively angle pressure treated angle wood
shims can be mounted under each installation bracket
instead of the wood board. Board of shims are not
needed for existing flat vertical surfaces.
A complete set of instructions is sent with every
awning. Should you need further assistance in measuring,
we are an email away. Email is responded to within
24 hours or less.
