Siracusa - Attached Retractable Patio Cover System

Its flush, L-shaped profile, neatly-tucked gutters (optional), and perfectly smooth lines give the Siracusa an austere grace that no other patio cover can touch. It is a chameleon of style that can work on almost any structure or stand by itself as a freestanding pergola.

Matchless Minimalism

There is no wasted space on the Siracusa. The uprights and purlins of this retractable patio cover meet together at a smooth L-shaped angle, flush at the top and without an overhang for a nearly perfectly smooth profile. Minimalism, modernism, art deco, mid-century chic – the history of modern architecture is all about making the biggest impact with the smallest design, and that is the Siracusa.

Because the purlins meet the uprights without an overhang, the transversal beam is tucked back. Without the gutter, the cross beam is set back about 6in (about 150mm). With the gutter, the beam is set directly in the elbow where the purlin and uprights meet, and the gutter is hidden in the beam. Either way, the design focus remains on the linear flow of the purlin and uprights. The purlins on the Siracusa are a sturdy 6.30in (160mm) tall, and the uprights are 5.91in x 3.94in (150mm x 100m).

The minimalism of the Siracusa frame effectively brings more attention to the fabric of the patio cover itself, adding a hint of color within the frame.

The Siracusa can work with a variety of architectural styles, for homes, business, offices, and multi-family buildings, ranging across mid-century, modern, Southwest and Spanish, and traditional. Its stark design gives it limitless versatility. The Siracusa can even be installed as a freestanding pergola.

The Siracusa patio cover is designed for fewest appurtenances to interfere with its sleek frame, with hidden joining components and an optional snap-in joint system for quick installation.

As with our other retractable patio covers, the Siracusa is excellent in sun, heavy rain, and winds up to 63 miles per hour (Beaufort scale 10), and our fabrics are rated for UV protection and glare control.

Control the Light with Pescara Louvers

Every one of our retractable patio cover systems can use our completely unique Pescara louvers. The Pescara addition echoes a graceful, overlapping pattern or slender aluminum strips. The Pescara louvers not only block sunlight like overhead blinds; they also reflect light and can be positioned in different ways to control light intensity. They work with the patio cover fabric to scale the level of light and glare for ultimate protection.

Pescara louvers can be controlled by remote control. Their corrosion-resistant aluminum strips and stainless steel components resist both rust and discoloration or bleeding.

The Pescara louvers are adjustable but not retractable.

A Diverse Selection of Enclosures

Our patio cover series uses a permanent pergola framework to support the retractable awning fabric and to define the space. Because of the permanent frame, our patio covers can be enclosed to provide both privacy and protection.

Two different types of enclosures can be used with any of our patio covers, and any or all of them can be used at once:

• Installing vertical drop screens on the beams of the patio covers for retractable sun and glare control
• Choosing sliding doors (two, three or four panels, with multiple slide directions to choose from) for the strongest sense of quiet, privacy, and seclusion – almost like permanent construction
