This
outdoor switch is designed for easy installation
without an electrician. All you need is an outdoor
110V receptacle to connect the UL approved, weatherproof
plug. We also supply an outdoor approved plastic
cover at no additional charge to go over the metal
switch cover box.

This
outdoor switch can be used to fully extend (open)
the retractable awning, retract (close) the retractable
awning or stop the awning at any position up to
the projection purchased. The outdoor switch is
available as a momentary option (you have to hold
down the switch to operate the motor) OR a maintained
switch (you do NOT have to hold down the switch
to operate the motor). For practicality reasons
almost all customers prefer the maintained switch.
For total security, you can remove the outdoor plug
from the electrical outlet for winter storage or
when you leave the home for extended periods of
time.
Cable
Requirements: The 3 part cable with the
molded plug on the end is available in standard
sizes: nine foot, twenty foot and fifty foot. This
3 part cable runs from the outdoor switch to the
outlet. In addition, you may need some 4 part cable
which runs from the awning motor (which is inside
the roller tube of the awning) to the outdoor switch.
The awning motor comes standard with a "pigtail"
of approximately five foot of 4 part cable. Additional
4 part cable is available in one foot increments.
