When connected to a rain sensor, the sensor
control unit is capable of closing our retractable
awnings in the event of rain, even in the
absence of the user. The awning rain sensor
is highly recommended for a situation where
you are unable to obtain enough pitch (angle)
on the awning arms (due to a limited installation
height) to allow for rain runoff which is
required so that "pooling" of water
does NOT collect on the awning fabric. The
rain sensor is intended to close an awning
when rain begins, but can also be used in
specific situations to open an awning when
rain begins by reversing specific wiring.
It is important to note that if used in this
manner (to open an awning when rain begins)
their MUST be enough pitch on the awning arms
to allow for rain runoff.
The
rain sensor option can be combined with the
advanced wind sensor and/or advanced sun sensor
and/or advanced remote control options for
the ultimate and convenience in automation
of your retractable awning from the leader
