This
is a detailed buying wizard to help you make the
correct choices when using our pricing
estimator.
BUYING WIZARD
STEP 1 - Quantity Section:
First decide how many lateral
arm
Elegante retractable awnings you would like
to purchase and where they will be located?
BUYING
WIZARD STEP 2 - Width & Projection sections:
Decide on the width and
projection of each awning based on the space available,
how much shade you would like, the angle of the
retractable awning in relation to the sun protection
of the windows, sliding doors or French doors. Also
consider protection of furniture and carpeting from
U.V. (Ultraviolet Rays). If you entertain, a larger
lateral arm Elegante awning is preferable.
BUYING
WIZARD STEP 3 - Hood & End Covers section:
Consider using a
hood with end caps on the lateral arm Elegante
awning. If used on a lateral arm Elegante
awning, the hood can only be used with a wall, fascia
and roof mount. It cannot be used (and is not available)
with an eave or beam mount. The hood is HIGHLY
RECOMMENDED as it will provide extra protection
for the retractable awning.
BUYING
WIZARD STEP 4 - Operations section:
Determine what
type of operation you would like. Manual is just
that….you operate the awning manually with a removable
crank. We also have the exclusive
Spring Assist option which allows you to open
and close a manual retractable awning with MUCH
LESS EFFORT than without it. If you decide to purchase
a manual retractable awning, the Spring Assist is
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Various size crank handles
are available to operate the retractable awning.
If you decide to choose the motorized
version or motorized version with Manual
Override, you will also need to choose an Operating
Control option (see below) and Power Cable options
(see below). Various size crank handles are available
to operate the Manual Override motor. Most of our
customers purchase the Motor with Manual Override
and this option is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
BUYING WIZARD
STEP 5 - Adjustable Pitch:
The adjustable pitch is available
on the lateral arm Elegante model ONLY for any awning
size up to 20 foot wide and 10’6” projection.
The adjustable pitch will allow you to adjust the
angle / pitch / inclination of the awning via a
hand crank. Various size crank handles are available
to adjust the pitch of the awning. The front bar
has a level adjustment bubble mechanism on it for
perfect front bar alignment.
If you don’t purchase the Adjustable Pitch option
you can still adjust the angle / pitch / inclination
of the lateral arm Elegante awning but it
is more difficult and time consuming.
BUYING
WIZARD STEP 6 - Position of Motor / Override / Crank
when facing awning from OUTSIDE:
The
motor or Manual Override motor and crank must all
be on the same side, but can be on either the left
of right side of the awning when facing the awning
from OUTSIDE. When making this choice, it is always
best to place the motor, crank on the side closest
to the source of electrical power.

WIZARD STEP 9 - Type of Mount / Type of Bracket
Required:
Use
a Wall Bracket if mounting directly onto a flat

go between the brackets and the siding so that you
obtain a flat vertical surface.
Use a ceiling bracket if mounting directly under
the eave or overhang.
Use a wall mount bracket if mounting directly onto
the fascia of the house
Use a beam bracket combined with a ceiling bracket,
if mounting off of the side of a roof truss or beam
Use a triangular shaped roof bracket (with the correct
angle) or the adjustable roof bracket of the roof
if mounting the awning onto the roof.
