Para Tempotest® Brand Fabric

Para fabric is known around the world for its incredible quality. The company is famous for its original patterns, colors, and textures, which stand out from other brands. As an innovative company, Para's designs are appealing not only visually, but also viscerally. This brand is a great choice for those going for a high-end, European look. This fabric adds a dramatic flair to any awning, and Retractableawnings.com® is proud to offer this premier retractable awning fabric. Para calls this effect their "strong Italian stylistic identity," and it makes for a truly gorgeous addition to any home, commercial establishment, government building or institution.

Imported from Italy, Para fabrics stand the test of time due to the durability and design. Para's most known fabric line is the Tempotest, a solution-dyed acrylic fabric. The Tempotest is woven from man-made fibers before the dye is imbued into the material. This unique dyeing process gives the fabric a vibrant color that is resistant to fading. There are many benefits associated with these acrylic fabrics:

  • More resilient than its natural counterparts, such as cotton

  • Naturally resistant to mold and fungus

  • Para fabric is the only solution-dyed acrylic fabric that has a Teflon® treatment

  • Water and oil repellent

  • Stain-resistant

  • UV protection

  • Para offers a ten-year warranty on their awning fabrics

Contact RetractableAwnings.com for more information on purchasing Para fabric for your new retractable awning. Specifications

Tempotest® fabrics by Para are specially treated with micrometric particles covering a large surface area which gives the following characteristics:

  • Repellent to normal dirt formation

  • Water-repellent/water-resistant

  • Excellent dimensional stability

Design colors are shown in the brochure, on the internet site, and in any other support media may not correspond with the real shade of the fabric; therefore it is recommended to select from the actual textile pattern book or by having samples sent to you.

However, it is advisable:

  • Tempotest® fabric should be regularly cleaned

  • Remove brushing any marks of dirt with a simple solution of light soap and lukewarm water.  For strong stains and mold, wash with a solution of 240 ml. pre 1/2 pint bleach and 60 ml. per 1/8 pint mild soap diluted in 4 liters per 1 gallon of water.  Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove soap.  Dry the fabric in the open air.

  • To never use any other chemical products.

  • To close the awning in the presence of strong wind or heavy rain

  • Do not roll up the awning when it is wet, but only if necessary; open it to make it dry.

  • To avoid the build-up of water puddles (pooling of water) in the middle of the awning, keep the fabric always with tension and with an adequate gradient/pitch/angle.

Energy Savings

  • Retractable awnings are inherently energy-efficient. Simply – and effectively – blocking sunlight reduces heat gain, glare and UV damage. Para has tested its Tempotest® fabrics to determine accurately what their effectiveness is at blocking sunlight.

  • Depending on the color, Para's Tempotest® fabrics block anywhere from 93% (light) to 98% (dark) of UV rays.

  • Likewise, Tempotest® fabrics reduce indoor heat gain anywhere from 20% (light fabrics) to 30% (dark fabrics). This can result in saving almost 10 degrees in indoor heat gain and reduce air conditioning use by as much as 40%.

Green Policies

  • Para has targeted several areas in its manufacturing process where they can decrease their environmental footprint and increase livability:

  • Enhanced water purification process, treating 2000 cubic meters of water daily

  • An onsite co-generation plant for heating and electricity

  • Continuing testing for harmful materials used in manufacturing (Oeko-Tex® Standard 100)

  • Using ecologically-friendly products, such as Sanitized's registered antimicrobial active ingredients for fabric finishing
