Pisa - Retractable Canopy Awning
With a rectangular profile and rounded edges, the Pisa is an elegant contradiction of tailored crispness.
The Pisa is a dome canopy awning. A dome canopy has fabric all around the awning, unlike a lateral arm retractable awning which has fabric at the top, but not at the sides. The dome shape gives seamless sun protection in a compact frame, which makes dome canopies a common choice for windows (where an awning can't take too much space and has to provide maximum coverage).
Most domes – like the Colosseo – have a traditional circular shape. The rectangular frame of the Pisa imitates the flatter profile of lateral arm awnings, while still offering the 180 degree shade of a window canopy.
The Pisa dome canopy is made of a series of ribs that all hinge at a single point. These ribs spread out like the spokes on a wheel when the dome is fully opened. The Pisa is opened and closed manually using a pull cord and is shipped with a cord cleat to tie the cord down.
Domes have a small, self-contained shape; the Pisa's flattened shape gives the feeling of width. The Pisa can have a longer valance to give a little extra shade and style.
The Pisa is rated to perform in winds up to 24mph and can withstand nominal pressure up to 3352 lb/ft2 (70 N/m2).
Important: Please note that the Pisa model is RETRACTABLE and not FIXED/PERMANENT/STATIONARY which is perfect for high winds, hurricanes and snow loads. With a fixed awning, you have to remove the fabric every year before snow begins to fall or before high winds and hurricanes. That is not the case with a RETRACTABLE Pisa awning.

Valance Styles For Canopy Awnings - Colosseo, Pisa, Parthenon and Trevi
Retractableawnings.com provides a choice of eight valance styles. Standard valance height is 6" for the Colosseo, Pisa, Parthenon and Trevi canopy awnings.
Please be sure to use the corresponding valance number when ordering.

Retractable Awning Trim Colors
You have a choice of any 1 of 27 solution dyed acrylic braid binding (trim) colors. The binding is approximately ½" wide and is sewn with Tenara thread (lifetime warranty) onto the bottom of both sides of the valance. The binding (trim) takes the shape of the valance style selected. This trim is used on all valances on all retractable lateral arm awnings and retractable canopy awnings.

It is approximately 1/4" wide and is placed on the exterior of all our canopy awning models - Colosseo, Pisa, Parthenon and Trevi.
