Ferrara Attached Retractable Patio Cover System

Square edges and long lines give the Ferrara a modern, angular look. Broad purlins and thick uprights give the Ferrara a feeling of strength, while details like snap-in joints and built-in guttering and downspouts make the Ferrara an effortless choice to use.

Infinite Simplicity

The Ferrara has a design you can look at every day, and every day is like the first time. It is the height if simplicity, with purlins that slightly overhand the top beam and stop in a blunt, squared off end. The effect is slightly mid-century modern, a style that depends on smooth lines and sharp angles for sudden drama.

The most visual element of the Ferrara are its purlins, or top beams. The purlins are large, 6.30in (160mm), high and are split into two parallel boards, with a near-invisible profile of the fabric guides between them. The purlins overhang the uprights and front of the patio cover by nearly 7½ in (190mm) and end in a sharp, 90̊angle. The uprights in the front have a minimal taper (from 156mm to 150mm, or 6.14in to 5.90in), giving a slightly soaring effect to the Ferrara as it rises.

The simplicity of design in Ferrara echoes how easy it is to use:

• Simple snap-in joints for easy installation
• Invisible joining components
• Gutters and downspouts that are inline with the posts and uprights for minimum visibility
• Corrosion-resistant, powder-coated aluminum frames which require virtually no maintenance and resist chipping and fading

The Ferrara can fit almost any space:

• It offers front-post support to attach to existing buildings or it can be freestanding.
• It can fit irregularly-shaped spaces, so the frame can be rhomboid, trapezoid, or uneven.
• The Ferrara can be flat, pitched (sloping down to the front), or angled (tilter to the left or right), depending on the demands for shade and drainage.
• The Ferrara has moderately adjustable posts, which can allow the patio cover to be properly installed even if the initial measurements are slightly wrong.

Control the Light with Pescara Louvers

Every one of our retractable patio cover systems can use our completely unique Pescara louvers. The Pescara addition echoes a graceful, overlapping pattern or slender aluminum strips. The Pescara louvers not only block sunlight like overhead blinds; they also reflect light and can be positioned in different ways to control light intensity. They work with the patio cover fabric to scale the level of light and glare for ultimate protection.

Pescara louvers can be controlled by remote control. Their corrosion-resistant aluminum strips and stainless steel components resist both rust and discoloration or bleeding.

The Pescara louvers are adjustable but not retractable.

A Diverse Selection of Enclosures

Our patio cover series uses a permanent pergola framework to support the retractable awning fabric and to define the space. Because of the permanent frame, our patio covers can be enclosed to provide both privacy and protection.

There are three different types of enclosures that can be used with any of our patio covers, and any or all of them can be used at once:

• Installing vertical drop screens on the beams of the patio covers for retractable sun and glare control
• Using graceful side curtains or front curtains to soften the profile of the frame
• Choosing sliding doors (two, three or four panels, with multiple slide directions to choose from) for the strongest sense of quiet, privacy, and seclusion – almost like permanent construction
