Trento - Free Standing Retractable Patio Cover System

The wide, graceful Trento spreads out in a T-shape, with central stanchions and generous eaves. Its unique profile -- combined with fabric pulled taut in geometric precision -- makes the maximum effect with minimalist and modern lines.

Straight Lines and Style:Trento
The Trento shows that the right design can make the most out of the simplest elements. The Trento has a shape like a thick T, with four posts (two on either side) near the center of the patio cover. The uprights have short crossbeams connecting them; then, long transverse beams are fitted cozily underneath the cross beams and extend past them to create wide eaves. The design -- one that was launched with Vicenza and Forli at the GiardinaZURICH in Switzerland -- takes a few simple shapes -- a stacked rectangle, a T, a cross -- and puts them together in a modern way.

The Trento, like the larger Vicenza and Forli patio covers, was engineered with an eye to cafes, restaurants, and hospitality: outdoor spaces where a sense of spaciousness and comfort are vital. From high traffic restaurants to quiet backyards, the Trent creates a space where people want to sit. The freestanding Trento has engineering to back up its pretty design:

• Powdercoated aluminum for maximum resistance to rust and fading, with more color options than the Forli
• Lab-tested performance for 15 years of use (5,000 cycles at 220lb/100kg)
• Solution-dyed acrylic fabrics
• Optional post positioning, either 15.74 inches (40 cm) or 47.24 in (120 cm) from the edge of the cover.
• Alternating pitch, meaning small spanners along the awning fabric profile force the fabric down at an angle, going down both sides. This provides runoff without needing to use discharge pipes and guttering.

The Trento has slender uprights and beams, only 4.72 inches x 2.36 inches (12 cm x 6 cm). Combined with its unique shape, these strong yet narrow beams give the Trento its appearance of delicacy and airiness. This also emphasizes the lines of the Trento. The near geometric style of the Trento, sporting multiple right angles, makes lines important. The fabric of the Trento awning harmonizes perfectly; the fabric is pulled perfectly tight, creating very smooth lines rather than the Grecian drapes of other patio covers. Even the alternating pitch moves linear segments of the fabric, creating a chunky pattern that is both linear and textured.

The Trento has the same shape and proportions of the Forli, but is less than half the length, with a maximum size of 14 feet 9 inches. The smaller size lets the Trento fit in small or oddly-shaped places.

The Trento is only available with a manual movement.

A Diverse Selection of Enclosures
Our patio cover series uses a permanent trellis framework to support the retractable awning fabric and to define the space. Because of the permanent frame, our patio covers can be enclosed to provide both privacy and protection.

There are three different types of enclosures that can be used with any of our patio covers, and any or all of them can be used at once:

• Installing vertical drop screens on the beams of the patio covers for retractable sun and glare control
• Using graceful side curtains or front curtains to soften the profile of the frame
• Choosing sliding doors (two, three or four panels, with multiple slide directions to choose from) for the strongest sense of quiet, privacy, and seclusion – almost like permanent construction
