Installation for a sidearm/drop arm awning is very simple. First, attach the cassette box above the window or door using the brackets provided. Next, attach the left arm to the wall on the left side of the window or door and then the right arm to the right side of the window or door and insert the detachable crank. That’s it! Of course, if you purchased the motorized version you will need to insert the plug into a standard 110V outlet (GFI recommended).
With a sidearm/drop arm retractable awning, you can customize the following for you or your client:
Choose a custom width and specify a size to as little as ⅛”
Choose one of several standard side arm/drop arm projections
Choose the solution-dyed acrylic fabric color from hundreds of solids, tweeds and stripes
Choose the valance style from any of these six
Choose motorized operation for ease of use and convenience or manual operation with a detachable crank
Pricing for retractable side arm/drop arm awnings ranges from about $500 to a little over $2,000 for the largest size available with the optional cassette hood box.
Unlike interior blinds, a window awning not only provides privacy, but also reflects UV rays, and blocks the heat from entering into your home, business or RV. With the ability to reject and therefore exclude heat from entering, retractable side arm/drop arm awnings will definitely help lower your utility bill. By simply acting as a barrier to the sun your indoor temperature can dip as much as 20 degrees, which translates into as much as a 77 percent decrease in air conditioning use.
To clean a retractable side arm/drop arm awning frame and fabric simply spray gently with a hose. If your sidearm/drop arm awning fabric has a stain like grease, wine or ketchup review the fabric manufacturers cleaning instructions for that particular stain type. Do not under any circumstances attempt to clean the frame or fabric with a pressure washer as the high pressure will rip holes in the fabric and damage the motor, neither of which is covered under warranty.
